Comparison: New Moon Book & New Moon Movie

Okay, so, as you may have noticed, I saw the New Moon Movie. I’m going to share my opinions, so don’t keep reading if you haven’t seen ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon.’ (or if you haven’t read the books)

New Moon, the first time through, was very difficult to read. I literally teared up when Edward left Bella. I started crying to the point it was hard to read. I was reading New Moon at wrestling matches on corners, my nose always in a book. New Moon was hard to read because my heart literally hurt…like Bella’s. Then Jake came in, and I wanted him to go dies in a hole. When we got Alice back, I was SOOO happy. And then Edward. Happiness. Then we meet the Volturi.

In the beginning of the movie you’re met with a moon. Then you are placed right into Bella running among red robes, only to show up in the meadow, placing her in the dream scene. Then Bella wakes up to Charlie and birthday presents. I loved having Charlie present in the film right away. Then you go to the school, and Bella and Edward actually talked! And kissed! And everything. The Jacob hows to give Bella a presnet, which at the moment I wasn’t pleased with. It was Edward time. My favorite scene appears. English class.  You see Jessica staring longingly at the screen, Mike about to fall asleep, Angela biting back tears, adn Erik flat out cruing. The teacher is mouthing each line, and you hear Edward to talking to Bella about how easy it is for humans to kill themselves. Then they get into te Volturi story, only to be interupted by a teacher he asks “Mr. Cullen” to recite the last few lines on the screen. Edward recites perfectly the whole class turned around to stare. The English teacher mumbles to himself then tells the class to turn around. A few other school related things, and I was in love with the situation of the movies so far. Bella and Edward’s characters fill in a blank left by Hardwicke: tje volturi’s fill in. Maybe not necessairly in Carlisle’s study, but the basis. I liked that. Then we go straight into Bella’s party, and I feel like weeping. Everything is so happy and Edward’s smiling. But we–the audience–know what was coming. After Emmett’s HELLarious comment–”dating an older woman…hot”–and Edward’s glare–which made me LOL–the tragedy begins. Papercut. Then you hit the blank pages thing, and may I just say that that is so similar to what I envisioned, it’s not even funny. The whole ’sitting in a chair and time passes thing’ and then I was also in love with how she tried to keep touch by like writing emails to Alice, even though the email address was clearly cancelled. And the screaming, and Charlie freaking out, and it’s all just so clear it’s almost like I’m reading the book again. Then she goes to see Jacob. I mean, I guess this is how fast things really move when you don’t hear Bella’s thoughts, but I thought it was a little weird how fast she got to Jacob’s. But then the whole ‘time passed’ thing with them working on the motorcycles and getting closer. And her meeting Quil and Embry is short and sweet. But earlier that I would’ve liked, she’s at the movie theater, awaiting something tragic. In the movie, I love how KStew was really able to imitate Bella’s missory, and then Jacob is trying so hard, and is just so warm. And, just to say this: I LIKE HIS LONG HAIR! It makes him warmer, some how. The theater scene was brutal and awesome, but it ended rather abruptly. Bella being really upset after Jacob’s “broken up with her” makes Charlie play in a little more–which I love. And we see Harry Clearwater, which is sweet. And then she goes to see Jacob, Billy won’t let her in, she comes in on her own, sees Jacob so vulenrable and sleeping. Then she goes and picks a fight with the wolf pack. AWESOMENESSSSSS! Okay, and then you have the whole ‘paul-verses-jacob-bella-on-the-sidelines-all-holy-crap-i-just-saw-a-wolf-transform’ thing, and then she meets Emily, and has some pretty awesome convos and happenings over a muffin. I think that ends a little short, and so does Bella and Jacob’s talk on the beach, but I keep reminding myself that they only had so much time to work with, anyway. Then, just as I thought should happen, there were flashbacks of certain things. The Laurent fight, etc. Umm, and then eventually we see Victoria, who’s red hair is so red it’s almost purple. And Charlie and Harry and hunting, and Harry runs into Victoria, which is so perfect. I mean, him having the heart attack then and there, is just, it’s a change that was well-made and that I loved. Meanwhile, Bella is jumping off her cliff, and I’m like crying. I want her to stay with Jacob, and I want them so bad to be together. But then it all happens. Before you know it, they’re SO-FRIGGIN-CLOSE to making out, I’m about ready to scream, and how Jacob is saying he’s not right…ARGH! Then Bella goes back into the house, and there’s Alice, and then Jake comes back cause he really does care about her and she’s worth crossing the line for…And it all folds out from there. Bella says no to Jacob, while I’m like crying, Alice and Bella are off to Italy, and then they confront the Volturi. That whole thing happens realyl fast, HOWEVER a scene that we were told was going to be a drema scene, ended being a sneak peek into Breaking Dawn. <Lost breath> Couldn’t imagine any better. Then they skip the plane ride back, as well, and the vote–yes, the vote–happens. I love it all, it’s so breathtaking and jsut exactly how I had imagined it. Then they end up in the woods and Jacob is reminding Edward, and Bella decides to say the cheesiest lines to Jake in the whole movie. Even though they are necessary. “I love you. Don’t make me choose, Jake. Please don’t. Because it’ll be him. It’s always been him.” I cried and laughed at the same time. Then Edward talks, and Jacob is all like, “you don’t speak for her!” then Edward hits him and I wanna cry. And then Jacobs in wolf form and Bella is all like “stop!” Then Jacob trots off in wolf form, about ready to cry. Bella is all like, “just change me into a vampire, I’m such a burden,” and Edward is all like, “I’ll change you,”

five second pause

“On one condition…:”

Thirty-freaking-seconds later…

“Marry me.”

Close-up of Bella’s face.

End of movie. First thought: “I HAVE GOT TO EFFIN SEE ECLIPSE!!!!” Second thought: “WTH?” Third thought: “I’ve got to see this again…”

Comparison: Twilight Movie and New Moon Movie

First off, Melissa Rosenberg wrote this one so much better than the first. I gotta give a few props to the woman.

Second, Chris Weitz, should be thrilled with himself! (Not like we didn’t see sucess anyway) Catherine Hardwicke just didn’t work well. (other than the fantastic cast she picked out)

It seemed like Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson had had alot more training on their acting, as well. It seemed more fresh.

I was very concered about Taylor Lautner and whether he would have the talent or not, but he sure did bring it.

Rock on to all the artists for their flipping awesome music.

Oh, and New Moon actually looked like  a movie! Not blue! Good job, whoever does that.

Next I’m gonna post about how much money has been made, and stuffs like that.

Well, what did you think of the movie?

Twilight or New Moon?

New Moon The Book or New Moon The Movie?

Ugh!!! I just loved this movie – hands down. Sure, there were things that they missed in the movie that were in the book – but Edward was 20 feet tall…what’s the issue again!?!!?!?

Girl – if it were me there would be NO pause!

@Joie Yeah, I was kinda dissapointed, cause Jacob is supposed to be getting taller than Edward…but I guess that’s just not how Rob and Taylor roll. I mean, Bella being so much shorted than Edward is awesome, though.

@Jerri I mean, there’s only 114 days til New Moon on DVD (didn’t have to cheat for that one) and 213 days til Eclipse in theaters (did have to cheat).
